Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest: Spring 2026 Conference Program

April 10 - April 11

The Spring Meeting of the Nature Photographers of the Pacific Northwest will be held April 10–11, 2026.

Friday will feature photo field trips and an informal evening social hour at the Peppermill Empress Inn—great opportunities to connect, explore, and create.

Saturday’s program will take place at Centralia College in Centralia, Washington, in the Corbet Theater. (Please note: this year’s meeting is scheduled one week later than usual to avoid Easter weekend.)

Doors open at 8:30 a.m., and the program begins at 10:00 a.m. There will be no Zoom option for this meeting.

The featured speaker for both the morning and afternoon sessions is award-winning author and wildlife photographer, Paul Bannick.

Paul is the author and photographer of five highly acclaimed books. His morning presentation, “Owl: A Year in the Lives of North American Owls,” is based on his best-selling book of the same name. In the afternoon, he will present “Woodpecker: A Year in the Life of North American Woodpeckers,” inspired by his latest release.

Paul’s photography has earned recognition in prestigious competitions, including those hosted by Audubon Magazine and the International Conservation Photography Awards. His work was also featured in a wildlife art exhibit at the Chimei Museum in Taiwan.

His images appear prominently in bird guides published by Audubon, Peterson Field Guides, Smithsonian Institution, Stokes Birding, and the National Wildlife Federation, as well as in several volumes of the Handbook of the Birds of the World. His photography has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Sunset Magazine, Nature’s Best Photography Magazine, Seattle Times, Alaska Airlines Magazine, and many other books, magazines, parks, refuges, and outlets throughout North America and Europe.
