BOARD MEETING REVIEW: OCTOBER 7TH VIA ZOOM

  • The Board decided to proceed with honoring BHAS and community volunteers by resuming our yearly awards.  We will advertise for nominations in the January Echo.
  • The decision was made to purchase bird field guides in Spanish and donate them to the Timberland Library system.  This will help with our continuing effort to become a more inclusive organization.
  • In a similar note, Mary Birchem will be leading a BHAS field trip on October 24th especially for differently-abled people.  The walk will be on the boardwalks and roads of Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually NWR.
  • The Ad Hoc Leadership Committee will be reaching out to Board members and our leadership team to fill upcoming officer and Board member positions.
  • The Board finalized our Major Project vetting procedure.  Both the guidelines and the checklist will be posted on our website for access by our members.
  • It was decided to continue using the COVID-19 protocols for field trips through our next Board meeting.  Since we are not requiring proof of vaccination, we will continue to require masks.
