Commission Meeting on Proposed Golf Course in Westport Light State Park

The South Sound Bird Alliance and many of our members have been following the proposed development of a golf course on state park property in Westport. The Parks Commission is holding a special meeting on Monday, October 19th at 5pm in Aberdeen to discuss the proposal for this golf course inside Westport Light State Park. Friends of Grays Harbor is trying to rally supporters to attend the meeting in opposition to the golf course in order to show solidarity. This has historically been challenging given the location.

It would be impressive to show the Parks Commission that many people are interested and invested in the outcome of this proposal.  The developer will be at the meeting to present the proposal and will likely have lots of their own supporters.

If you can organize a carpool or attend the meeting yourself in person or on Zoom, please see the details of the meeting in the link below. Your comments and attendance make a difference.
