Join us for a comprehensive travelogue on Panama with Jerry Broadus and Clarice Clark, South Sound Bird Alliance members and accomplished international birders. Jerry and Clarice will be speaking live from the venue.

Panama has long been a favorite tropical birding area. The country is easy to access and explore even if you don’t speak much Spanish; there are lots of good accommodations and guides; and the varied terrain has a fascinating history.

In this talk Jerry and Clarice will first visit Cerro Pirre, a little-known site near the Colombian border with numerous endemic species of birds, followed by a journey down the “Kings Highway,” a difficult hike through an area of extreme historical value that has been nominated as a world heritage region. Then Jerry and Clarice will accompany Sergio Siepke of Raptours on what is believed to be Siepke’s last guiding trip before he passed away. The discussion will conclude with a visit to Tranquilo Bay and two of the Canopy Family birding lodges accompanied by Dr. Laurie Goodrich of Hawk Mountain.

We invite you to come and discover this amazing country and its birds.
