DEIB News May 2025

I want to spread the word about 2 bird walks that are coming up that could use some volunteers. It is a way to spread our wings and engage the larger community.

On Friday May 30 from 6:30 pm to about 8 pm there is the LGBT Bird Walk at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge has been hit with mandatory staff reductions. They are short staffed, to say the least. They could really use the help with this fun, entertaining evening walk. In past years we’ve had 50+ people show up for this walk. It’s fun, laid back, entertaining and full of wonderment.

On Saturday, 6/21 The Blue Star Family outing begins at 9 am at Nisqually Wildlife Refuge. We’ve had over 50 people attend this fun family-oriented event. Volunteers would be appreciated.
