This year marks an important milestone: we’re halfway through Audubon’s Flight Plan, our ambitious strategic plan for birds and the places they need. ACOW 2026 is an opportunity to pause, reflect on what we’ve accomplished together, and focus on where we go next.
ACOW 2026 will bring together conservation leaders from across the state to celebrate progress, strengthen connections, and focus on the work ahead. Shaped by feedback from chapter leaders across Washington, this year’s gathering will feature inspiring speakers, practical learning opportunities, and meaningful conversations about the future of bird conservation in our state.

October 5–9 | Bellingham Bird Week
Hosted by North Cascades Audubon Society, Bird Week will feature bird walks, community events, educational programs, and celebrations across the city. Bird Week is designed to welcome both longtime birders and people who are just discovering birds and conservation.
October 9 | WSACC Meeting & Public Keynote
The Washington State Audubon Conservation Council (WSACC) will meet to discuss statewide conservation priorities, resolutions, and advocacy efforts. The evening will conclude with a public keynote address celebrating birds, migration, and conservation.
October 10 | ACOW 2026
The Saturday program will feature collaborative discussions, strategic breakout sessions, chapter recognition, and opportunities to shape the future of Audubon’s conservation work in Washington.
October 11 | Field Trips
Explore the birds, habitats, and conservation stories of northwest Washington through a variety of optional field trips hosted by local experts and partners.
