Weekend at the Skagit Flats – Field Trip
January 31st and February 1st

Spend Saturday and Sunday birding among the big birds of the Skagit Flats and surrounding environs.
Stay overnight on Friday if you wish to arrive early.
Saturday – Meet at 9am at the parking lot next to the store at the roundabout on the west side of the freeway in Conway. Exit 221 from I-5 north. We’ll carpool as much as possible and can decide on drivers beforehand if possible. Birding at various spots from Conway to Samish Island with a lunch stop in Bow or Edison. (Trumpeter Swans, Tundra Swans, Snow Geese, Raptors galore including the Short-Eared Owl, waterfowl, and smattering of passerines.)
Saturday dinner in LaConner at COA Mexican Eatery & Tequileria, 623 Morris St, La Conner, WA 98257 is an option for anyone who wishes to dine as a group.
Sunday – Meet at 9am at the Neeleman Law Group parking lot on Chilberg Road in LaConner (next to Hedlin Farms). We’ll make sure to see the snow geese if we did not on Saturday, and run some of the same roads but also go to Bay View State Park and any other areas we hear about while there.
There are several accommodations in LaConner or Mt Vernon. Some of us will be staying in LaConner. More details to follow once one has signed up.
