South Sound Bird Alliance member, Maria Mudd Ruth, is celebrating the publication of her newest book, The Bird with Flaming Red Feet. Her book details the life of the Pigeon Guillemot–an oft-overlooked seabird found on our coastlines–and is also a memoir and introduction to the community members who observe them. The book will be available on April 7th and many of us who loved her first bird book, “Rare Bird” about Marbled Murrelets, are anxious to start reading. And heads up – Maria will be our featured speaker at our September 10th program. What a privilege it is to have an accomplished writer amongst us!
