What’s Your “Spark” Bird?

Has anyone ever asked you why you are so obsessed with birding? Did a specific bird “spark” your interest? Bob Wadsworth, a BHAS Board member and long-time birder, remembers growing up in Puerto Rico. He clearly remembers:
“I spent one summer as a teen counselor at Camp Guajataka and spotted these Red-legged Thrushes. Named Zorzal de Patas Coloradas, they are natives of the Caribbean, and I watched them all summer.”
Fun Fact: These Thrushes enjoy mainly fruits but also insect matter. They live in coffee shade forests, and are non-migratory. Their legs, bill, and eye ring are all bright orange-red!
