August Field Trip

Mount Rainier White-Tailed Ptarmigan

On June 16, 2021, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service applied to list the Mount Rainier White-Tailed Ptarmigan as a threatened species.
SUCCESSFUL OWLET OPERATION!

In February 2021, we reported that BHAS had installed a Barn Owl nest box (constructed by Dennis Plank) at the site of a barn demolition in Mima Mounds Preserve.
BHAS Field Trips Began Again

Our first BHAS-sponsored field trip in over a year, held on Saturday, June 26, found about 15 folks eager to tour the Billy Frank Jr. National Wildlife Refuge.

BHAS Memories of Patrick Dunn, Prairie Conservationist

Pat Vance Dunn passed away in July 2020 at age 61. Celebrations of his life occurred this past July at Glacier Heritage Preserve and Wolf Haven’s Patrick Vance Dunn Memorial Prairie.
