Winter Volunteer Opportunities

MeetUp Administrator – We are looking for someone to post our activities and events on our Meetup site. It consists of copying titles, descriptions and directions from our SSBA site and creating these events on our Meetup site. It can all be done at home in just a few minutes a week, on average. Contact Kathleen Snyder at ksnyder75@gmail.com or Deb Nickerson at debranick@gmail.com who can get you set up.

Ivy Pullers for our Ivy League – Want to work outside for a couple hours each week pulling invasive English Ivy with a few chapter members? Every Monday we work at Watershed Park from 9-11am and clear an area of ivy so that other plants may grow. We will be hosting a planting party in late January too. If you are interested in joining us for this outdoor fun, please contact Deb Nickerson so we know to expect you. One can park at the church lot on the corner of Eskridge and Henderson and walk to the site via the trail just down Henderson.  We ask volunteers to wear clothes that can get very dirty and bring digging tools too.  debranick@gmail.com

Dessert Bakers for our Annual Dinner on March 7th – If you love to bake and would make a couple dozen bars or cookies for our Annual Dinner, we would appreciate it very much!  Contact Deb Nickerson to sign up.  debranick@gmail.com

All our committees can benefit from your talents and skills. Is there something that interests you as you read about all our chapter does? Conservation advocacy, education, leading or assisting with field trips, our newly organized “Cats Indoors” Campaign, Membership Drive involvement, or developing our communications or outreach?  Contact Deb Nickerson or any board member or committee chair to discuss where you can spend some time and energy.  Email addresses for all of us are on our website. Thanks for considering where you can be an asset to all we are doing for the natural world.
